Aztec: Community vote for grants

Aztec community organizers have launched a vote and public proposal asking the team to convert part of the community allocation into long-term grants for verified contributors, node operators, and testnet participants.

The proposed conservative distribution model includes:

Developers remain funded.

Community, operators, and testnet participants receive long-term rewards (not an immediate airdrop but structured grants for confirmed contributors).

A small portion — about 0.37% — would unlock after a 1‑month cliff, and approximately 2% would fully vest over 12 months.

Organizers reference prior actions (validator setup, role farming in Discord) and published a detailed allocation document. They also promoted a supporting tweet to gather backing. The proposal aims to give the Aztec team community-backed rationale to reconsider distributions after the TGE.
